A house with a story to tell
( Since 1896 )
Some places are simply somewhere to sleep. Others have a character all of their own.
Akureyri Lodge is a timber house built in 1896 in Innbærinn, Akureyri’s oldest neighbourhood. Its walls have witnessed generations of local life, and its history remains part of the experience today.
The house is home to three individual apartments, with paintings from its collection adding character to the interiors.
It is a place where historic surroundings meet the comforts of an independent stay — with the town outside your door and room to relax when you return.

Independently owned. Personally cared for.
Akureyri Lodge is part of a small collection of distinctive Icelandic properties owned by Stella & Eyþór.
Their journey into hospitality began with Hotel Laugar and grew from a shared interest in places with character, a sense of place and the ability to make people feel at home.
Akureyri Lodge reflects that philosophy: an individual historic house, thoughtfully prepared for travellers who appreciate comfort, independence and a little more character than an ordinary overnight stay.
